Junior WR Derek Kief Planning an Overnight Unofficial Visit to Northwestern S/O to @IRunYouCheer3

The rumor is that this overnight unofficial visit will take place sometime in March.  Expect more details to come as we get closer to the visit.

Moeller Senior RB and Northwestern commit Keith Watkins is a fantastic young man and a superb athlete.  The idea that these two wrecking balls could be on the same offensive team, tearing down defensive opponents together while representing the GCL South... that would be very exciting for many GCL fans.

The picture above is a flashback from the 2012 GLC All Star Banquet.

A couple of minor adjustments were made after learning Watkins will be playing defense back for Northwestern.

Junior WR Derek Kief on the GCL Dominated Cincinnati Enquirer All-Star Team (see full team)

As published in the Sunday, January 20, 2013 issue of the Cincinnati Enquirer and will eventually be published here.

The Division I All-Star team was selected by Mike Dyer based on recommendation from area coaches.  Of the 32 players and coach selected, 16 (48%) were from GCL South teams Moeller, Elder, St. Xavier and La Salle (as highlighted below).  Of the 32 players selected, only 7 juniors named, Derek Kief being one of them.

Derek Kief Ends 2012 Junior Season Ranked 2nd Best Receiver in History of La Salle Football

At the end of Derek's 2011 Sophomore Season, he was ranked 7th best receiver in the history of La Salle football as seen in this post.  In 2012, he improved on that, moving up to 2nd on La Salle's Football Honor Roll.
