Derek Kief Breaks School Record for Most Pass Receptions Which Stood for 29 Years
Keith Reganhard set the school's individual season record for most pass receptions record in 1983 with 59 receptions. Derek had 55 receptions leading up to the St. Francis Desales game last Friday night. Although, currently the GCL is reporting only 4 receptions (that should be corrected soon), Derek had 5 catches. This puts him at 60 for the season with one game remaining.
Another record in Derek's reach, the school's career record for most yards receiving:
Derek currently holds nearly 1500 yards. He has one game remaining this season...and ALL of next season to capture a couple hundred more yards. Considering he is averaging nearly 100 yards per game, I think he'll lock down this record as well.
Congratulations Derek and keep putting in work!

Derek Kief - LaSalle vs. Brother Rice - 8 Receptions for 103 Yards and 3 Touchdowns (4 straight 100+ games)
LaSalle Lancers football team played Brother Rice Warriors on October 13th, 2012 at Brother Rice in Detroit, MI. LaSalle lost 30-29.
Derek ended the game with:
• 8 receptions for 103 yards (only 5 receptions away from breaking LaSalle's season record of 59 receptions set in 1983)
• an average of 12.9 yards per catch
• longest reception of 22 yards
• 3 touchdowns
LaSalle dug themselves a big hole (20-0) and Brother Rice was shoveling on the dirt. Like a zombie, they pulled themselves out of the ground and were laser focused on finding brains. Sorry, Halloween is nearing, please substitute touchdowns for brains. The DEFENSE initiated the start of what would be a great run for the Lancers. LaSalle's Jeff Larkin took a Brother Rice ball carrier's cookies and ran it back to the Warriors 37 yard line. Now it was up to the offense to climb through the window of opportunity that Larkin opened.

Derek Kief taking unofficial visit Saturday to OSU, taking in the game vs. Nebraska

Derek Kief - LaSalle vs. St. Xavier - 8 Receptions for 109 Yards (3 straight 100+ games)
LaSalle Lancers football team played St. Xavier Bombers on October 5th, 2012 at LaSalle, OH. LaSalle lost 31-14.
Derek ended the game with:
• 8 receptions for 109 yards
• an average of 13.6 yards per catch
• longest reception of 25 yards
• 0 touchdowns
St. X is having a fantastic year and they are very well coached. The Bombers did their homework and came prepared to defend. Derek was faced with double and triple coverage all night. Although, even with the overload of coverage, Derek made himself an open target. While 8 receptions and 109 yards is nothing to be ashamed of, he could have easily put up 12+ receptions again this week.
